From discarded, mismatched glass vases to an instant collection of one of a kind metallic vases... get the look for less than ten bucks! I'm teaming up with my friends Jackie and Liz for another fun blog hop. Our theme is a fun one and requires us to think outside of the box and stay on budget: how I would spend $10 at a store of our choosing. I immediately decided the thrift store would be where I'd spend my ten bucks because that's a great place to stretch a dollar. Walking down the … [Read more...]
The World’s Longest Yard Sale: Pickin’ Adventures
The World's Longest Yard Sale brought us through three states and breathtaking country sides. We traveled even farther this year into Tennessee and could have made it to Kentucky if we had a little more time. The thing I love most about The World's Longest Yard Sale is visiting and supporting small towns and exploring places you may not ever visit if it weren't for the sales! People come from all over to sell or to buy each year, and it's fun to meet them and we have certain houses, shops and … [Read more...]
Patriotic Mantel with Vintage Finds
Do you switch out the decor on your mantel for every season or holiday? While I was in love with my spring mantel using the vintage windows, I decided to switch it up for the summer. This patriotic mantel is festive for the 4th of July and perfect to leave up for the rest of the summer. When decorating a mantel, you want to use something that will cover a large area of the wall to be your focal point. You could use a large sign or one large window as your base - just to give you a few … [Read more...]
Putting Together a Patriotic Porch
I'm teaming up again with my friends at the Sweet Moda Blog Project and this week our theme is plants. So while my plants were thriving and looking pretty, I had to snap some pictures and reveal my patriotic porch to you! Plant Lady? It's no secret that I have a black thumb, but so far this summer I'm a plant lady, y'all! Now, don't ask me about the names of any of these plants.... or for any gardening advice. Because for that, I have none! ;) I just bought what looked pretty and were in … [Read more...]
Coffee Filter Garland
I'm teaming up with the ladies of the Sweet Moda Blog Project and this week our theme is coffee filters. I love how fun this coffee filter garland is hanging over our vintage door headboard. A window display at a local boutique store is the inspiration behind this coffee filter garland. The garland in the display was made out of coffee filters and scrapbook paper; I just remember loving how fun and unique the garland was and thinking I should make something similar. That time is … [Read more...]

Deconstructed Books
Deconstructed books are a popular home decor trend. They add the vintage, farmhouse character to an area you're trying to style. I love the look, but I would never deconstruct a true vintage book, instead I use a cheap hack to get the same look for a fraction of the price. To create my deconstructed books, I used paperback books from the dollar store. I would never deconstruct a vintage book, so please don't do that! :) Just use old books laying around your house that you don't read, … [Read more...]
