Hey y’all! My name is Ashlee and I live in sweet home Alabama. A few of my favorite things are: rescue pets, thrifting and anything DIY! Surviving on Dr. Pepper, tacos and Reese’s Cups.
My husband, Jon (AKA Mr. Sweet Southern Oaks), is in the military and originally from Chicago. Our story is a classic meet-cute: military man gets stationed in the South, where he meets a small town girl from Alabama. We got engaged six months later!
Nowadays, you’ll find us at the local hardware store picking out paint samples or getting ready for our latest home project, on the junkin’ trail looking for one of a kind treasures, eating at local restaurants or binge watching reality tv! We have two spoiled and sweet rescue pets: a cat named Louella Mae and a dog named Lila Blue. You’ll see them both make appearances on the blog because they’re always up for pictures if it involves lots of treats!
