Hello, friends and welcome to The Roaring '20s. Well, the 2.0 version of that! A new year, a new decade, a new start. While many people make a resolution, I choose a word of the year. A word that represents and sets the tone for the year. I've picked a word of the year since college and each one truly becomes ingrained into my life somehow. I've shared a few other words of the year with you - read about my words of the year for 2018 and 2019. This word is one that has been tugging at … [Read more...]
Deconstructed Books
Deconstructed books are a popular home decor trend. They add the vintage, farmhouse character to an area you're trying to style. I love the look, but I would never deconstruct a true vintage book, instead I use a cheap hack to get the same look for a fraction of the price. To create my deconstructed books, I used paperback books from the dollar store. I would never deconstruct a vintage book, so please don't do that! :) Just use old books laying around your house that you don't read, … [Read more...]
2019 Word of the Year
Happy New Year, y'all! At the end of each year, I reflect on the events that happened during that time and what I've learned. Then I pick a word for the new year. My word of the year is something I've been doing since I was in college and it signifies what I want to accomplish each year. It amazes me each year how one little word can challenge and inspire me so much. With each word I pick, I end up learning more about myself. Some years I learn more than others with the word I … [Read more...]

Yarn wrapped letters are an easy DIY project that couldn't get any cuter for Valentine's Day decorations. I decided to buy extra large letters in an X and O to use on my mantle for Valentine's Day. Warm Up with Winter Decor
The Christmas décor has once again been packed up and the house seems a little bare. That's why I like to add some winter décor to make my house still feel warm and welcoming. However, after all of the busy and glittery decorations that Christmas brings I crave a little simplicity with my winter décor. For winter décor, I think about woods and whites mixed with galvanized metals with lots of textures and layers. You may remember the porcelain Christmas village from my Christmas home … [Read more...]
