Hey friends! Happy Friday! Today I'm teaming up with Jackie and Liz for the Sweet Moda Project with a patriotic theme to help you get ready for the 4th of July. I've got a fun and festive patriotic tablescape to share with you today. My house sure is festive right now with all the red, white and blue. We're a military family, so we wave our flag proud to celebrate our great nation. Of course when I decorate, I have to decorate the dining room, too. Tablescapes are so fun to put … [Read more...]
Patriotic Mantel with Vintage Finds
Do you switch out the decor on your mantel for every season or holiday? While I was in love with my spring mantel using the vintage windows, I decided to switch it up for the summer. This patriotic mantel is festive for the 4th of July and perfect to leave up for the rest of the summer. When decorating a mantel, you want to use something that will cover a large area of the wall to be your focal point. You could use a large sign or one large window as your base - just to give you a few … [Read more...]
Sriracha Peach BBQ Sauce
Summer is here and that can only mean one thing: outdoor entertaining! Fire up the grill this weekend and make this homemade Sriracha Peach BBQ Sauce to kick off the summer. A couple of sweet friends sent me a delicious box of fresh, Georgia peaches last week! I had a few very ripe peaches left and decided to create a barbecue sauce with them. So Sriracha Peach BBQ Sauce was born. Around here, spicy food is life and I'd probably add even more Sriracha next time. Serve with Chicken … [Read more...]
Putting Together a Patriotic Porch
I'm teaming up again with my friends at the Sweet Moda Blog Project and this week our theme is plants. So while my plants were thriving and looking pretty, I had to snap some pictures and reveal my patriotic porch to you! Plant Lady? It's no secret that I have a black thumb, but so far this summer I'm a plant lady, y'all! Now, don't ask me about the names of any of these plants.... or for any gardening advice. Because for that, I have none! ;) I just bought what looked pretty and were in … [Read more...]
Jalapeño Ranch Dip
There is a Mexican restaurant in town that has the best jalapeño ranch dip. They don't bring it with the chips and salsa though, you have to ask for the special dip. It's so good, I could drink it by the bottle. We go there for the dip. And tacos. Lots and lots of tacos. A few years ago I set out to find a recipe for the jalapeño ranch dip so I could make it at home whenever I wanted. Of course I checked out Pinterest first. A lot of the copycat recipes out there didn't seem to be the … [Read more...]
Reese’s Peeps Skillet S’mores
You guys, I made these Reese's Peeps skillet s'mores and let me tell ya.... It's just like it sounds: an ooey and gooey, chocolatey and melty neon marshmallow delight. After this, I don't think I can go back to regular s'mores again. Reese's Peeps Skillet S'mores forever at my house.... so it's a good thing they make Peeps for all the holidays now! Growing up, Peeps were always in our Easter basket. So it's not Easter until I've eaten those neon, sugary marshmallow delights! I mean … [Read more...]
How to Naturally Dye Easter Eggs
Dying Easter eggs is a fun family tradition. Growing up, we used those fun wraps with patterns or cartoon characters on them and we even made tie dye Easter eggs. But naturally dyed Easter eggs using fruits or vegetables? That's not anything we ever did.... until now! I'm teaming up with the ladies of The Sweet Moda Blog Project this week and our theme is Easter eggs! I've watched several food shows where they show you how to naturally dye Easter eggs and I was curious. Curious enough … [Read more...]
