Hello, Friends! Welcome back to the Sweet Southern Oaks Blog! DIY Pumpkin Candle Supplies:
- Mini Ceramic Pumpkin Container with a Lid (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
- Candles that you can melt down
- Candle Wicks
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
How to Make DIY Pumpkin Candles:
- Add a little hot glue to the silver part of your candle wick. Hot glue the silver part of the candle wick to the bottom of your pumpkin container.
- Melt down your candles. You can boil a pot of hot water and melt the candle that way. I melted my candles down in the microwave. And yes, my kitchen smelled very candle-y after 🤣 with an apple cider scent, but it’s the Fall season anyway!
- Once the candle is cooler to the touch, carefully pour the candle wax into the pumpkin container.
- I took some kebab skewers and placed them on top of the pumpkin container to hold the candle wick in place.
- Once the candle has dried fully, trim down the candle wick with scissors.
Now as the candle wax is hot, it may shift the wick a little bit – it did with mine! But it’s ok if it does – it’ll still be cute! I really needed some candle wick stickers to help the wick stay in place in the center of the pumpkin. The link for the candle wicks I added here include them. So I’m going to try those the next time I make a candle! And of course, as with any candle, don’t let it burn for too long or leave it unattended with small children or pets.
Honestly, I’d recommend to use unscented candles and then you can customize your candle’s scent with a fragrance oil. Ohhh like a Pumpkin Spice fragrance oil would be perfection! 🎃
Now to some other exciting news regarding Sweet Southern Oaks…
🎉I started a YouTube channel! 🎉
My YouTube channel has a video that explains how to make these candles too. You can check that out, subscribe to my channel and follow along over there, too – DIY Pumpkin Candles Video.
I think this will be a great way for me to explain the decorating process and DIYs more in depth with you. With Reels on Instagram and Facebook, it’s hard to get all that information into a short form video, so I think the longer form videos on YouTube will be great!
The YouTube channel is very much a work in progress and there is a lot of Fall decor and DIY videos to come over there. Please take a moment and SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel and make sure you hit the little bell so you never miss a new video! 🔔New videos will be posted every Thursday at 4pm CST/ 5pm EST. Plus there will be lots of bonus videos coming up over there during the holiday season and those videos will go live on Tuesdays at 4pm CST/ 5p, EST.
Thanks so much for hanging out with me back in this little corner of the internet and also for subscribing to my YouTube channel! Stay tuned because there is so much more coming soon for Sweet Southern Oaks! See ya next week, Sweet Friends!
