Hippity, hoppity Easter’s on it’s way! Easter sure did sneak up on me this year! Instead of a traditional Easter tablescape, I decided to create a large centerpiece using some items I had around the house. Let’s put together a versatile Easter and Spring centerpiece!
Creating a Versatile Easter and Spring Centerpiece
First, you’ll need to gather up some supplies that go along with your theme or a color scheme. For this particular centerpiece it will be Spring themed with a few Easter pieces added in. It will serve a double duty purpose because after Easter is over, I want to keep the centerpiece on the table. So I will remove the Easter decor and add in a little more Spring or floral pieces later.
Pull any pieces that go along with the theme or color. So we are working with florals, greenery, and a few Easter pieces.
Putting Together a Versatile Easter and Spring Centerpiece
When creating a large centerpiece, the first thing you’ll need is a large vessel. I used a large teal tray for this centerpiece because the color felt like Spring. You could use any large tray, a shallow basket or a platter that you have around your house for your centerpiece vessel.
First, I wrapped an eucalyptus garland around the edge of the tray. Next, I had an Easter sign that was a clearance find last year that I placed on the back of the tray for some height. Then three thrifted brass candlesticks are placed on one side of the tray for another height source. Then a rabbit is added next to the candlesticks.
On the other side of the tray are some terracotta pots to pull in the Spring vibe. I cut a bouquet of white flowers to add around the entire perimeter of the tray. Then finally a few carrots complete the Easter centerpiece.
The brass candlesticks, terracotta, flowers and carrots all add different textures to the centerpiece.
Switching the Centerpiece Up for Spring after Easter
After Easter is over, I’ll remove the carrots and the Easter decor. In place of the sign, maybe a Spring sign or a vase of flowers will be used for the height. Maybe a few more terracotta pots will be added. But even if I just remove the Easter decor, the centerpiece will be beautiful as is!
I love that I was able to use items I already had at the house to put together this centerpiece. But the best part is that it can easily be switched out for just Spring after Easter is over!
Happy Easter, sweet friends! May we remember the true reason we celebrate Easter – our risen Savior that died for our sins on the Cross so we may see Heaven.
