Start a new tradition with your family this Halloween season! A Hocus Pocus Family Movie Night with spooky fun snacks is sure to be a hit!
I was not allowed to watch Hocus Pocus growing up. It wasn’t until college that I actually watched the movie. Dost thou comprehend?! Mr. Sweet Southern Oaks had never seen the movie until he met me. It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus if you ask me. 😉 Now, it’s a family tradition that we can’t wait to share someday with our future children. No family movie night is complete without fun themed snacks, so I’ve got all the recipes included here.
If you follow me on Instagram, I’ve been sharing these ideas for a Hocus Pocus Family Movie Night in stories. I’ve got a highlight saved over on Instagram with pictures and details on making each of the spooktacularly fun snacks!
For a Hocus Pocus Family Movie Night, we’ve got to have some bewitching snacks to eat during the movie:
- Witches’ Warts – Sausage Balls
- Hocus Pocus Sand’witches’ – Ham & Cheese Poppy Seed Slider Sandwiches
- Hocus Pocus Munch – Pumpkin Spice Puppy Chow (Muddy Buddies)
- Frightfully Cute Cheese Ball – Pumpkin Shaped Cheese Ball
Hocus Pocus Food Station Set Up
Of course, we’ve got to have a fun movie set up to display the snacks! To do this, all of the food should be placed in a central location. Either in your living room where you’ll be watching the movie or in the kitchen. Use some Halloween decor and festive platters to decorate the food station. Here, I used several pieces of black cheesecloth (creepy cloth) and stretched it across the island. I had some Halloween Rae Dunn dishes that hubby had found, but use any kind of Halloween plates you have for your family movie night. Some plastic skeleton hands from the dollar store add a touch of spooky and the pumpkins tie all the colors together. Finally, Halloween lights make the food station extra festive!
