With the 4th of July coming up soon, it’s time to set the table for a patriotic feast! This year the theme is a stars and stripes patriotic tablescape with lots of Rae Dunn mixed in!
Tablescapes are kind of fun to put together. I like to pull from decor I already have when putting together a tablescape and the creative possibilities are endless!
Stars and Stripes Table Setting
To start with the table setting, I used these jute chargers to start creating layers on each place setting. These jute chargers from Target are perfect for every season or holiday. Of course, the star of the tablescape this year are these DIY Stars and Stripes patriotic chargers and they create the next layer. It’s important for me to remind you that these chargers are not food safe – they’re just for decoration! So on top of each charger is a disposable, clear plastic plate, to use for the food. Since the plastic plates are clear, the stars and stripes chargers will still be seen through the plates – plus they make for easy clean up, too! 😉
Patriotic themed bandanas in festive colors are what I used as the napkins. The bandana napkins are folded in thirds and are placed over the clear plate. On top of each napkin is this cute patriotic silverware! We bought them on clearance a few summer ago – how cute are they?!
Stars and Stripes Tablescape Centerpiece
For the centerpiece, I used a patriotic stars and stripes scarf that I found in the dollar section at Target. My plan was for the scarf to drape all the way down the table – but it’s an infinity scarf! So Plan B had to happen and I just wrapped the scarf around the center of the table. I added a pitcher for a little height and filled it with flags. Then I nestled my patriotic and military wife Rae Dunn mugs around the pitcher. Y’all know my love of Rae Dunn! Mr. Sweet Southern Oaks found all of these Dunn mugs for me while he was at a training school last summer. Of course, the Air Force Wife one is my favorite of the Rae Dunn mugs. But, I do love them all.
Happy 4th of July!
I think this Stars and Stripes patriotic tablescape is super cute and it’s definitely festive! All we need now is some good ol’ BBQ with my Sriracha Peach BBQ Sauce and Grilled Corn Summer Salsa with chips! Then the table will be all set for our patriotic cookout! Wishing you all a very happy and safe 4th of July as we celebrate our country’s birthday! I want to start some new traditions for the holiday this year. So tell me, what does your family do for the 4th of July?
