It’s time to set the table with this simple Rae Dunn Friendsgiving Tablescape for a holiday meal.
Can you guys believe Thanksgiving will be here next week? Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I’m already so excited about the big feast! Turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie… I’m literally hungry just thinking about all that delicious food! Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to put together a tablescape using items that I already had around my house.
Decide on a Color & Theme
I find that picking a theme for my tablescape helps to decide on a color and the decor. Since it’s Thanksgiving, I decided to put together a tablescape using rich, autumn colors. I had the Friendsgiving Rae Dunn oval plates and decided it would be more of a Friendsgiving tablescape theme.
Theme: Friendsgiving {Or Thanksgiving!}
Colors: Autumn Hues in Rust, Mustard, and a pop of Copper
Decide on Plates and Decor
Now that you’ve narrowed down your theme and colors for the tablescape, you will easily be able to pick out coordinating plates and the table decor. Use a neutral color tablecloth and pull the colors out with the decor and plates you use on the table. Creating layers in a table setting is the best tip I can give you when decorating! You will see that each table setting has layers, creating depth and adds interest. For this particular table setting, we have a ruffled rust placemat, a copper charger, mustard dinner plate, blue dessert plate, rust napkin and finally the Rae Dunn oval plate. I used items I already had, so shop your house before buying new stuff to put together a tablescape.
Centerpiece
This centerpiece is simple using a thrifted cornucopia. I stuffed the cornucopia with a copper fall leaf garland and pumpkins. For a little height on the centerpiece, the cornucopia sits on top of a thrifted amber cake stand. Then pumpkins are on either side of the table. Of course, just a few pumpkins would make a great centerpiece for your Thanksgiving tablescape.
That’s it! A simple Friendsgiving tablescape ready for celebrating with good food and good friends! Putting together a pretty tablescape doesn’t have to be lots of work or cost money. You can use the plates you have and dress the table up with some pumpkins and candlesticks and call the table complete!
