Fall, is that you?! Pumpkin Spice season is upon us and the pumpkins and fall décor are out! Fall is finally here and this is my favorite time of the year. I love pumpkins, so my house turns into our very own pumpkin patch. Before you start decorating for fall, I’ve got four fall decorating tips to share with you today.
I’m teaming up with my friends Jackie and Liz for another fun blog hop this week and we are sharing fall decor. Be sure to stop by and see what they’ve been decorating this fall, they have some awesome fall decor going on!
1. Decide Your Fall Color Palette & Gather Inspiration
Pinterest, blogs, magazines and Instagram are full of inspiration to pick out a fall color palette. In the search engine of Pinterest you can type in fall color palettes and let the app do all the guesswork for you! From the traditional autumn colors to unexpected muted color palettes, the inspiration is endless. In the search engine of Instagram or Pinterest, you can type in what you’re looking for on the tags such as “neutral fall decor” and lots of inspiration will pull up!
2. Add Warmer Tones & Natural Elements
My favorite fall decorating tip is to add warm tones and natural elements. Adding warm tones to a room instantly changes the overall feeling. You can add warmer tones by thinking of nature. Wooden bowls, cutting boards or wood slices add layers and textures to dress up a fall vignette. Clay pots, vintage amber bottles even a pop of copper can create that warm, fall feeling. Go in the yard and clip some fall colored leaves and you instantly have that fall feeling that didn’t even cost anything!
3. Decide What Areas to Decorate
Now that you’ve gathered your ideas, the next fall decorating tip is to decide what areas of your home you will decorate. Maybe you want to add fall touches to only a few rooms. What fall décor will you incorporate in each room? Do you want to keep it simple with a few pumpkins and fall colors or do you want to go all out? I like to write out my décor ideas and make a sketch to pull my vision all together.
For example, my design for fall this year is going to be completely different, which you will see next week! I’m envisioning an eclectic Bohemian vibe for fall with jewel tones and pops of metallics. I’ll only use this design in the living room and dining rooms.
4. Add Pumpkins
In my opinion, you can never have to many pumpkins for the fall! I realize that I’m a pumpkin hoarder and not everyone likes for their home to look like it’s thrown up pumpkins. 🙂 Adding a few pumpkins into your living room with some fall leaves can be the perfect touch for fall decor! By the way, my local nursery just put out their pumpkins yesterday… so they better be ready for me tomorrow. I’m buying allllll the pumpkins! #PumpkinQueen
