I’ve teamed up with a few of my blog friends for a monthly link up project. Each month we will select a theme and share a project in each of our own styles. We will share DIY projects and thrifty ideas you can make at home and more!
In order to kick off the challenge, what better way than for you to get to know the ladies behind each blog. So for those of you that are just finding my little corner of the internet, hello! It’s so nice to meet y’all! I’m Ashlee, the girl behind Sweet Southern Oaks!
Meet Ashlee: Sweet Southern Oaks
My name is Ashlee and I’m from sweet home Alabama. A few of my favorite things are tacos, coffee, peanut butter cups and Dr. Pepper Icees. My favorite thing is to go pickin’ at local thrift stores and flea markets and I collect all kinds of vintage goodies. From copper to milk glass to old books, I collect all the things. 😉
My blog is filled with DIY projects and budget friendly ideas to update your home. I would describe my style as eclectic farmhouse. A little farmhouse, a little shabby chic, a little vintage, some of this and that with a pop of color. I like a little bit of everything.
We have lived in our house for a little over two years now and we are slowly making it feel like home. Mr. Sweet Southern Oaks and I are always working on a project around our house. Our house is my palette that I’m always changing. I’m lucky enough to have a supportive hubby that helps me do the bigger projects around our house and goes along with all the crazy ideas I dream up. Some of our favorite projects to date would be: painting our kitchen cabinets, building DIY open shelves and our $100 bathroom refresh.
It is our goal to buy a historic home {preferably a farmhouse or maybe a grand Victorian!} and restore it back to it’s former glory for our forever home. I’m an old house nerd and I truly want to save them all. I imagine the stories and the history that old homes could tell of the years gone by and I think it’s important to preserve the history of those that came before us.
Now let’s meet my friends that are participating in the link up project!
Meet Jackie: Jackie Can’t Blog
Jackie was one of my very first friends on Instagram. She use to host a hashtag game on Instagram and one day I discovered her tag. At the time, I was just getting started on Instagram and had maybe twenty followers when I shared a picture with the hashtag. I was SO nervous to post my picture, but Jackie was the sweetest and so encouraging to me in the very beginning of my IG and blog journey and I consider her a true friend.
Isn’t Instagram cool like that? You meet people from all over the world and by watching their stories, messaging back and forth and reading their posts you really do become friends. All because of an app. Sometimes technology amazes me. Jackie’s style is a little boho and eclectic. She decorates with lots of colors, patterns and textures. Spoiler alert: Jackie can blog!

Steffi blogs about fashion, lifestyle and interior design. She shares tips and tricks for finding your home decor style and how to decorate the home you’ve dreamed of and has a beautifully monochrome and moody Instagram feed. Her rustic style apartment is seriously #goals. I love that headboard and all the different textures.
