A group of talented bloggers and I have gotten together for the $100 Room Challenge this month! With a budget of $100 and one month to update one room in the house, each blogger will show you their thrifty designs and inspire you along the way. The $100 Room Challenge is hosted by my friend Erin at Lemons, Lavender and Laundry.
I love this challenge because it creates the perfect motivation to refresh a space with a small budget. Challenge accepted! For this challenge, my plan is to improve the small bathroom in our master bedroom. Let’s chat about my bathroom inspiration plans!
I managed to round up a few super scary before pictures of what the bathroom looked like when we moved in…
Scary right?! We painted the bathroom long before I started the blog… and a lot has changed since then. I sure am glad we painted the walls when we did! I couldn’t stand the tan “ooops paint” color or the random holes in the wall any longer; so we patched up the holes and I painted the trim a bright white, Sherwin Williams Bohemian Lace and the walls are Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray.
Now, check out what the bathroom looks like after I painted the walls. This is what I’m working from now.
Better, but still needs some sprucing up! Since I still like the color of the walls and trim, I’m not going to repaint the bathroom. This month I’ll refresh the bathroom for the $100 Room Challenge. Let’s get started!
$100 Room Challenge: Farmhouse Bathroom Inspiration Plans
- Paint the Cabinets
- Spray Paint the Hardware
- Paint the Medicine Cabinet
- Frame Out the Builder Grade Mirror
- Add Shelves
- Change out the lights to Edison Bulbs
In order to stick to your budget, decide what your vision is and then shop the prices for everything before finalizing your plans. Having a vision and a solid plan is key to helping you stick to the budget. My vision is a farmhouse style bathroom with a pop of color and metallics. I love to put a mood board together to make sure all my thoughts flow together. You can pull inspiration from Pinterest, Instagram or cut outs from magazines and put all those ideas together. Here is my bathroom inspiration mood board I put together to visualize my plans.
I’m going to use the builder grade mirror I already have and frame it out. I’ll clean up and paint the cabinets in a soft aqua blue to add the perfect pop of color and spray paint the hardware copper. Finally, I’ll add some cool shelving for extra storage in the bathroom.
Source inspiration: Baskets | Jars | Edison Bulbs | Shelves | Mirror | Hardware | Vanity
Paint Color Swatches: SW Watery & SW Agreeable Gray
