Marble painted Easter eggs completely transforms cheap, plastic eggs into one of a kind, gorgeous home decor!
Marble is hot in home decor right now, and I think y’all must love it, too! The marble painted ornaments are one of the most popular posts on my site! These beautiful marble painted Easter eggs were made using the same technique as the marble painted ornaments.
I love marble painting because there is no right or wrong way to create the unique marble effect. Each egg comes out so different and beautiful in it’s own way. This is a fun project you can do with the kiddos this weekend–and you might already have all the supplies you need! By the way, this is not a sponsored post.
Supplies for Marble Painted Easter Eggs:
- 1-2 Sleeves of Plastic Easter Eggs
- Primer (I used Krylon Color Master White Primer)
- 3-4 pastel paint colors in the colors of your choice (I used Apple Barrel paints in: Lavender Sachet, Cameo Pink, China Blue and Sunny Day)
- Toothpick or Wooden Skewer
- Old Bowl or Disposable Baking Pan that is deep enough for the eggs
Directions for Marble Painted Easter Eggs:
- Place the Easter eggs in a cardboard box and lay them out to prime. The primer is going to help the paint adhere to the eggs, so don’t skip this step.
- Evenly spray all sides of the Easter eggs with the primer in a thin layer and let it dry. The primer dries pretty fast.
- In a shallow bowl, prepare the paints. Slowly drop the paint into the bowl from darkest to lightest.
- Using a toothpick or skewer, swirl the paints together to make a pattern.
- Slowly dip the egg into the paint and roll it around making sure to cover all sides of the egg.
- Carefully pull the egg back up and let it dry completely over night.
Here are my marble painted Easter eggs! Each egg is unique and beautiful in it’s on way with the marbling technique.

Did you dry them lying down or did you hang them somehow?
Ashlee says
Hi! I let the eggs dry on wax paper or in a separate tray overnight.
