It’s all a bunch of Hocus Pocus!
Since Halloween is here, that means that it’s time to watch a holiday classic, Hocus Pocus. Hocus Pocus is my favorite Halloween movie– I don’t do scary movies. Nope. No way! I’m a chicken when it comes to scary movies. Click here for a Halloween Tablescape on a Tight Budget to see how I decorated the table.
But Hocus Pocus? Count me in! It’s not Halloween until I watch Hocus Pocus, and now it’s a tradition that we watch together. Fall date night! Boom!
Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to watch Hocus Pocus, and it wasn’t until college that I even watched the movie. Dost thou comprehend?!
Hocus Pocus, I need food to focus!
- “Witches’ Warts” —Sausage Balls. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown the sausage until cooked through. In a large bowl, mix 1 cup of Bisquick, 1 cup cheddar cheese, and cooked sausage together. Add about 3-4 tablespoons of milk and mix until a soft dough forms. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a pinch of Cayenne Pepper. Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the sausage dough mixture, roll into a ball and place on a greased cookie sheet. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, until cooked through.
- “Sandwitches” — Baked Poppyseed Ham & Cheese Sandwich Sliders. (Click here for the recipe)
- “Cauldron Cups” — Brownies. I was inspired by this recipe, but I just used store bought purple icing and added the little eyeball candies.
- “Hocus Pocus Potion” — Orange Sherbet with Ginger Ale
We made all of the food together, and then we sat down to watch the movie… I could probably quote the entire movie! Then I always think the wardrobe department should have made sure Ice had better looking socks on when Max took back his shoes… I mean the hole in the socks bother me. Every. Year. Anybody else have that thought?
It’s not to late to plan your own Hocus Pocus viewing party with your family or friends, or you can always save it for next year. It’s a family friendly and Sanderson Sisters approved movie night!
